I’m Putting the Band Back Together

Ten years ago, in a spare bedroom, a team of … er, well, myself and Chris Hebert (with the help of the elusive Travis Good), started a little site called Firehouse.com. We also acquired and grew portals in law enforcement and EMS. In the last few years, we’ve all gone our separate ways. Chris has stayed at Cygnus to lead the online efforts… Continue Reading This Post ...

Save Swingtown: An Experiment in Web & Search Engine Marketing a New Blog

One of the lead actors, Jack Davenport, starred on BBC's Coupling -- which I also loved. It's got a great cast and intriguing story lines about relationships -- its not just a show about sleeping around. Anyway ... After the show ended, my girlfriend mentioned that she filled out an online petition to keep the show alive. CBS is currently deciding whether… Continue Reading This Post ...

The other night I caught the tail end of the Stand Up 2 Cancer show that was running on all the networks. I'd seen the trailers on TV and in a few trailers at the movies lately, so I went to the web to find out some more information. So I Googled 'Stand Up 2 Cancer' and the URL, and this is the result I get -- Note the FIRST link, a paid campaign on Google.

Looks like that first link somehow relates to the CHARITABLE, NON-PROFIT Stand Up 2 Cancer effort, right? I just clicked it, didn't pay attention to the teaser and URL below it. Turns out it was an ad for the FOR PROFIT… Continue Reading This Post ...
